Can I simply just say what a relief to uncover somebody who really knows what they’re discussing online. You definitely know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More and more people must read this and understand this side of your story. It’s surprising you’re not more popular given that you certainly have the gift.

May I just say what a relief to find someone that truly understands what they are discussing over the internet. You actually know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More and more people really need to check this out and understand this side of the story. I was surprised that you are not more popular given that you definitely possess the gift.
Hey y’all, I a while back took a 16 season color analysis survey online because I was interested about diving deeper than the usual four seasons most people talk about. My initial simple test (the classic spring/summer/autumn/winter) gave me a pretty obvious result—Soft Summer—but this new 16 season result seems a bit more complicated. It suggested I’m something like a Soft Summer leaning toward Light Summer or maybe even a Cool Summer subtype, and there are all these notes about contrast levels, temperature nuances, and delicate brightness differences. Honestly, it’s a bit overwhelming trying to figure out whether these finer distinctions actually help with picking colors for everyday wear or if it just makes things more confusing for someone like me who’s just wanting to build a comfortable, wearable wardrobe.
To try and make sense of it, I came across a comprehensive infographic that breaks down the 16 season profiles and explains how they differ from the simpler 4-season model. It’s really insightful but also raised more questions about how much I should trust these smaller shifts in palette, especially since some colors recommended in one subtype seem pretty similar to what I’ve always liked wearing anyway.
Has anyone else here tried the 16 season system and found that it really added value beyond the basic four seasons? Or did you feel like it was just adding additional layers that didn’t make picking clothes easier? I’m eager about personal experiences or even any tips for interpreting these nuanced categories without getting too mixed up.
Here’s the infographic I mentioned if you want to check it out: find my color palette free . Any thoughts or input would be really appreciated!

Hi all,
I’ve been working with several frequently mentioned at-home methods for discovering my skin undertone—basically trying to find out if I lean more cool, warm, or neutral. I wanted to see which DIY test might give the most dependable clue, so I compared three common approaches: checking vein color, the gold vs. silver jewelry test, and using photos from my phone camera with different lighting.
For vein color, my wrists mostly show a mix of blue and green, which left me puzzled whether I’m cool or warm. The jewelry test was similarly confusing; silver seemed to bring out my features better in natural light, but gold didn’t look off either, especially indoors under warmer lighting. The camera test was the most puzzling—depending on whether I took selfies in daylight or under a yellow lamp, the apparent undertone shifted quite a bit.
I even came across a post that tested these DIY methods side by side and discussed their pros and cons. It brought up some solid points about how lighting and subjective interpretation can really influence results. That article is worth a look if you’re trying to sift through conflicting advice skin tones .
At this point, I’m a bit at a crossroads. None of these tests alone has given me a clear answer, and I wonder how much they truly capture skin undertone without professional tools. Has anyone had consistent experiences with one particular method or maybe combined tests that helped nail it down? Maybe there’s a not widely discussed approach that’s more dependable when doing this at home?
I’d enjoy any thoughts or recommendations. What worked best for you, and did you find any DIY methods reliably reflect your undertone once you saw your full color palette? Thanks so much!

Hey everyone! I’ve been experimenting with those phone camera undertone tests at home to discover my skin’s undertone, but I’m experiencing something odd. I did a test quite early on around 7:30 a.m. near my bedroom window and got a cool undertone result. Then, just after lunch at about 1 p.m., I did the test again by the living room window and this time it suggested a warmer undertone. I know my skin doesn’t actually shift colors that much during the day, so I’m pretty sure it has to do with the daylight changing and how it hits my face on camera. For example, the morning light from the east-facing window is gentle and slightly blue, but the afternoon light is brighter and warmer because of the west-facing window. I even tried going from natural window light to a white LED lamp but still got inconsistent results. I found a helpful blog post that explains how daylight temperature and where you sit can really impact skin tone readings in photos, which clarified a lot for me skin tone analysis . I’m curious if anyone else has noticed their undertone tests vary depending on the time of day or lighting conditions? Is there an optimal time — like maybe mid-morning or late afternoon — to do these tests to get more consistent results? Also, are there any good indoor lighting arrangements that mimic natural daylight well enough to make these skin tone tests deliver accurate outcomes? I’d love some suggestions or even just personal experiences from the community, because I want to make sure I’m not getting skewed results from a tool that’s supposed to help me figure out my natural colors. Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone,
I’ve been studying the 16-season color analysis for a while now, trying to find out where I truly belong. I’ve taken several different tests online, and my results are all over the place—sometimes they say I’m a Deep Summer, other times Soft Winter, and occasionally even Dark Summer. The problem is, when I look at the descriptions, they often read as almost indistinguishable, especially with the muted and cool tones mentioned in both Soft Winter and Deep Summer profiles. It’s really disorienting and rather aggravating because I’m trying to build a cohesive color scheme that actually flatters me rather than guessing blindly.
I do notice my skin leans towards a cooler undertone, but I’m not sure if it’s truly muted or slightly brighter, which is where the Soft Winter vs. Deep Summer debate is throwing me off. I also want to understand the general mood and energy that each subtype brings—I keep reading about how Deep Summers have a calm, understated elegance while Soft Winters are cooler but more contrasted, but it’s hard to figure out which colors actually work for me.
So, I found this infographic that outlines the fine distinctions between adjacent 16-season categories, which was helpful to an extent— soft winter . Still, I’m hungry for practical insights. Has anyone gone through comparable uncertainty between these cooler, muted seasons? Do you have go-to methods for comparing these seasons? Or even better, photos showing how certain colors really make a difference on your skin and overall appearance?
Any tips on how to approach these nuanced distinctions or personal stories would be wonderful to read. I’d love to hear what worked for you in clearing up this gray area. Thanks in advance!
